Traffic management in Glebe

Glebe Point Road's village-scale streetscape carries a disproportionate share of inner-west traffic given its role as both a local shopping strip and a connector between Broadway and the waterfront, with limited passing capacity when kerbside loading or works occupy travel lanes. Wentworth Park's greyhound racing venue and Harold Park's redeveloped residential precinct generate periodic crowd- and construction-traffic demands on a road network already under pressure from TAFE and Broadway Shopping Centre patronage. Broadway itself, at the southern edge of the suburb, is one of Sydney's busiest pedestrian crossings, requiring careful work-zone design for any utility or footpath works in the vicinity.
