Sydenham Road meets the Princes Highway at a heavily loaded junction that carries both metropolitan traffic and a significant proportion of south-west Sydney's freight, and the ongoing T3 Bankstown Line metro-conversion programme has added sustained construction traffic pressures to this already constrained corridor. Rail-replacement bus operations introduced during conversion works concentrate large numbers of buses through surrounding streets, creating temporary yet demanding traffic management requirements at the station interchange.
